Moving to Nursery
Children will move from our two year old afternoon session to our 3-4 morning session the next school day after they turn three to allow them to celebrate their birthday with their friends from Saplings.
As your child will be moving from an afternoon session to a morning session with new children we sometimes find they can become a little unsettled even if they weren't before, however the Saplings and Acorns (3-4 Nursery) sessions take place in the same room and with the same staff which should support your child's transition more quickly. It would be helpful in the run up to moving from Saplings to Acorns to talk about going to school in the mornings, and about the excitement of becoming one of the "big kids".
Uniform in Nursery is the same as in two year old provision, and home learning/bedtime books will be sent home on Friday in the same way.
If you qualify for 30 hour Nursery sessions once your child turns three, please ensure you have the code for this ready and given to the office before your child starts, and bring a packed lunch for your child, or pay for school dinners at the office.
If your child is still in nappies when starting Nursery then we will keep nappies and wipes in school for them in the same way that we do in 2 year olds. However in order to encourage independence and promote toilet training in our 3-4 children we ask that you send in pull ups rather than tabbed nappies to allow for a standing change.
The Nursery AM session is 9:00-12:00 but the doors will open at 8:55 and close at 9:05 so please arrive before 9 to ensure your child is in ready for register.
Additional information can be found on the Nursery class page, or you can speak directly to staff on the door or via Class Dojo.
