Welcome to Dovecot Primary School.

Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors,

On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Dovecot Primary School. We are a happy, inclusive and family orientated one-form entry school with a Nursery class.

We are a friendly and welcoming school with high aspirations for every child. Children are at the heart of everything we do. Every decision we make is to ensure that they are safe, happy, independent and confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and for the future. Our aim is for our children to move through life with confidence, excellent skills, good friendships and happy memories of primary school.

At Dovecot we have knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers who are able to inspire and engage the children in a curriculum that develops the whole child, building on prior knowledge and making connections. Through our broad and engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity of the world around them, which will develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories.

We aim for all of our children to leave us with the necessary skills and vocabulary required to succeed in secondary school and beyond; being well read and reasoned children, able to access literature in all walks of life and, perhaps most importantly of all, to aspire to pursue and realise their full potential in the wider world.

At Dovecot we are proud of the successful relationships built with our families, and the local community. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child’s education and value your interest and support.
