Homework resources
The most vital homework that your child can do is to read at home and bring their reading book back into school with them. For maths, working on automaticity (being able to do the easy steps without having to think about them) will help more than anything else, so practising times tables and number bonds is key. There are some websites below to help with this. As we move closer to SATs at the end of the year your child may be asked to do additional practise on key skills that will help them. This will often be set via Google Classroom - if your child does not know their login please let me know and I will be able to provide it.
We use Spelling Shed to support our students' spelling. This comes with an absolutely brilliant game that the children can play at home on any device. Playing a few minutes at home a couple of times a week can make an enormous difference. Student log-ins will be sent home at the start of the year, and I will set new games and challenges each week.
We also use Maths Shed to help our pupils with their learning in Maths. Again, students will have a log-in that they can use at home, and new games will be set regularly to help support them with key skills.
In order to support Reading, many of our students use Reading Plus - a fantastic resource that learns how fast each child reads and checks their understanding with quizzes. Students can access Reading Plus at home too, and if they can squeeze in a few reading or vocabulary lessons at home it makes a big difference.
These websites are regularly accessed during the school day and your child should be familiar with the content.
